Hi dojoers,
I am sure you got question what the heck is Dojo Furniture! Is Dojo changing its profession from javascript framework to furniture wholesaler? Well allow me to explain about it! Since my project proposal, I promised to give many things from code library, documentation and couple tests but *hrmmmm* something missing... then I purposed to have real world example in the list... Then there you go! I called it Dojo Furniture!
Fine, Dojo Furniture is your "real world" example... Then what it does? Is it like other furniture website? Of course big no from me... It is completely different where user will not experience flicking through ordinary two dimension image but now it is three dimension models! You can rotate it, you can see furniture from any angle!
Great! Can I see it now? Of course you can see it from Dojo Furniture but couple things you have to remember:
- Do you have decent graphic card? (Minimum you have to have OpenGL version 1.5) Check it from this page
- Do you have windows platform? (You have to have it! I tried in Linux but it is not working! Crap!)
- Do you have Firefox 3.0 or Opera 9.50 Alpha? (If not you have to go follow this instruction below)
+ Firefox
1. Get browser software at this page.
2. Get Canvas3D extension at this page.
3. Make sure to allow extension to load the 3D context.
+ Opera
1. Get browser software at this page.
If you try to follow the step then I am sure it will work, it not then please tell me in dojo.gfx20@gmail.com. Of course this project is still not mature, there are many things I need to do and I want to do it outside GSoC 2008! Well, that is it! Any comment, suggestion and critics always be welcomed... Thanks!

re: Dojo furniture
This is really neat... any idea when Canvas3D will be included with Firefox by default?
Regards,
-Dylan
Thanks!
Thanks very much! Regarding to your question, that is something that I am wanting to know as well and it seems we get a long way to wait... It may because of these list:
- the developer (change version from beta to release)
- the specification from WWW (where in the specification at the moment there is no such canvas3d)... and as far as i know firefox tries to follow the spec
- the performance (i notice that current hardware "quite a bit" not support the canvas3d, to tell the truth, I am using high class computer and I still feel *glitch* many times and I tried in the older computer and it so slow to run)
What we can do maybe just wait and see what will happen? Or maybe we can try to encourage those people from Firefox and Opera to quickly release their cute stuff... Actually... Another way to tackle this problem is change the underlaying drawing engine... from canvas3d into flash... Where flash has broad coverage (if I am not mistaken, Tom Trenka is doing this stuff!)

Great work Robert, this
Great work Robert, this shows one direction where browsers can be heading and should be heading..
Keep up the good stuff,
Nikolai
Great work
As you mentioned, native browser support is still a long way off. Extensions are easy to install though so I would focus on getting your project as stable, fast and robust as possible. Over time you will gain more and more users who will do cool things with it and it will snowball from there.
Great Work

dojo furniture
What does internet browsing have to do with office furniture because I tried to make a connection but my not so bright mind does not seem to figure it out.
Dojo Furniture? What The Heck Is That?
This is really what i have expected and it is the needed one for me.
