Video of Project Zero's Dojo-based Visual HTML Page Builder

If you were at Ajax Experience or Dojo Developer Day a couple weeks back, you probably saw the quick demo of the Project Zero Visual HTML Page Editor tool that I mentioned in my last post. This tool is written entirely in Dojo (currently 1.1 moving to 1.2), and allows drag and drop editing of HTML pages that contain Dojo widgets, and allows you to edit the source of the page, and switch back to visual design mode.

A short video that takes you through the tool is now available here.

Looking for feedback on new dojo-based Application Builder

We're looking for some feedback from the dojo community on a visual page design tool we're building at projectzero.org (community development site for WebSphere sMash).

General Features:

  • 100% dojo-based
  • Generates html pages that are 100% dojo+html+css+js
  • Browser-based
  • Runs disconnected (on a very small footprint client runtime).

Visual Page Editor Features:

Comet working on iPhone

Try hitting this site which is running Dojo comet with a WebSphere backend with your iPhone, it works like a charm!

Looks like making dnd accessible via context menus (maybe radial menus/icons) is going to be needed to make most complex apps function though.

IBM's Ajax for WebSphere Platform early program includes Dojo and Comet features

At Dojo 3D2 this weekend, I announced that IBM's Ajax for WebSphere Platform is now available on the Early Adopter program website. This initial release includes Dojo Toolkit 0.4.1 as well as a comet implementation for WebSphere Platform Messaging (v6.0), and three end-to-end sample applications that illustrate how Dojo can be incorportated into J2EE applications running on existing WebSphere platforms.
