Roadmap to 0.9 and beyond

Dojo 0.9 represents a drastic break from the past for the project. Having learned important lessons from 3+ years of deployed Dojo users, Dojo 0.9 and 1.0 are designed to build a re-focused core system, a high-quality widget set, and a clear delineation between what is completely done and what is still in flux. As outlined in the core API refactoring plan document, the goals for the Core redesign are to:
  • Remove magical APIs and behaviors
  • Pave the fast paths
  • What we leave out is as important as what we put in
  • Fewer idioms, better applied
  • Reward users for using more of Dojo, not less

These basic principles underline a dedicated approach to creating a small, fast, useful, and documented toolkit that still provides access to the entire galaxy of modules provided by current Dojo releases.
