What does your service provide? The HyperScope is a high-performance thought processor that enables you to navigate, view, and link to documents in sophisticated ways. It's the brainchild of Doug Engelbart, the inventor of hypertext and the mouse, and is the first step towards his larger vision for an Open Hyperdocument System. Is this service open to the public?Public What version of Dojo, and what components are you using?HyperScope uses Dojo 0.4.2. What made you choose Dojo?HyperScope is basically a port of Douglas Engelbart's Augment/NLS system on to the contemporary web. Augment, and therefore HyperScope, have _very_ deep hypertext abilities that might not be apparent at first glance, including a zoo of different kinds of hypertext options that can be combined in complicated ways. Layering this hypertext system on to the contemporary web, as a fully client-side Ajax system, meant alot of code. Dojo's package system helped to modularize and partition the pieces to make it more maintainable, and features like Dojo's event system, topics, XHR, etc. meant that we could make our code tighter and get more productivity. What was your favorite thing about working with Dojo? The Dojo Event system. |
